HOWEVER, you are absolutely right that given our choices we have to make the best of them and making the best of it means accepting what IS (I mean it in the non-clintonian definition) and moving from there. WE are STILL listening to soundbytes and still vulnerable to the manipulations of campaign advisors and the media as long as we keep our personal agendas sovereign over a unified vision. It is good enough for EVERYBODY to focus on our founding fathers vision of the country. Who knows how many denominations they had, but they overcame that and forged a document that was good enough to drive and energize their vision. That document is good enough for all of us and filled with enough NATURAL LAW, that does not require any one denomination to be named as primary, to lead all of us in the right direction.
Oh and like I said, stopping the holier than thou. Both Mary Magdalene and Saint Paul had lives MUCH WORSE than mine, but they sure ended up a whole lot better morally. At this point I now aspire to what was beneath me. If we are truly searching then we will always be falling and getting back up again, either learning from our lessons or doomed to repeat them or ...taking the direction of our country and celebrating and raising up vice and error while condeming and sneering and scorning those 'old fashioned' enough to hold onto values that drove this nation for 200 years, with similar results of both amazing heroism and pathetic hypocrisy. Aspiring to virtue is a path. Celebrating vice is a swamp and contrary to the relativists of today there is no such thing as neutral. There is good and there is evil. Evil spawns ...NOW and good spawns...the miraculous rise (with all its low points ) of this nation for our first 184 years.
Natural law is inherent to every human being, whether anyone wants to name it judeo christian values or not. Good only comes from one source and evil comes from another.
Just as candidates cannot be viewed with intolerance, nor can those with Judeo Christian values be viewed with intolerance. The myth is that they are oppressive. The last 50 years we have all but silenced them. It is only that in 2000 years every attempt to suppress Christians leads to their ascending and triumphing. It is a spirit of triumph, but it must also be a spirit of tolerance. There is not one anti-Christian that God doesn't love as much as anybody else and if we are the one Christian they meet, woe unto us if we blow it and act like the intolerant and arrogant bullies that they falsely paint all of us as being.
