The top-selling Bible in North America will undergo its first revision in 25 years, modernizing the language in some sections and promising to reopen a contentious debate about changing gendered terms in the sacred text.
The New International Version (NIV), the Bible of choice for conservative evangelicals, will be revised to reflect changes in English usage and advances in biblical scholarship, its copyright holder announced Tuesday. The revision is scheduled to be completed late next year and published in 2011.
"We want to reach English speakers across the globe with a Bible that is accurate, accessible and that speaks to its readers in a language they can understand," said Keith Danby, global president and CEO of Biblica, a Colorado Springs-based Christian ministry that holds the NIV copyright
But here's a question for you. Jesus said, "I am the Way the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by me."
What if they changed that to "No one comes to the Father but by me."?
I wouldn't have a problem with that because clearly he's referring to everybody - men and women, but to use "men" to refer to everyone is just not something we do in English anymore.
Im not gonna throw a fit if they do that but even though the "average person" may not understand the bible as it is I dont think it should be changed from the original. Im just nervous that this is a way for someone to get in there and change something they shouldn't. I know God said that He wouldn't let that happen (Revelation 22:18-19).
I dunno... It was written a certain way and I think God wanted it to stay the way it is. I could be wrong lol

I have to address this most serious assault on the Word of God, there are presently more than 200 different English translation of "Scripture".. WHY? I will tell you all, straight out because it is needful, all these are indeed counterfeits, and they are in existence for no other reason but to set confusion of what God has said, for it is that Satan is still posing the same question as he did in Genesis 3 "Yeah hath God said".
Ask yourself this one thing, is God the author of confusion, I ask this because that is exactly what all these 200 + translation do, is bring confusion into the lives of those seeking to know, what has God said? I have seen people walk out of churches because the Pastor taught from a different translation, witness many arguments erupt in Bible studies ending in splits, even churches come to an end over translation disagreements.
Ask yourselves another question, who is it in this present EVIL World is the "author of confusion, who would take great delight in seeing Churches spilt, saints divided over which translation is more accurate, and so much confusion within the body of Christ due to all these so called translation.
I will tell you what I know to be true, Lucifer is the great deceiver and the author of confusion, and has from the beginning caused mankind to question God's Word, has brought confusion in the mind of mankind of what God has said, and Satan is using the same tactic today as he did way back there in Genesis 3, through the diversity of English translation.
The NIV is said to be the first choice sighted has the most accurate, nothing can be further from the truth, did anyone know that in the beginning, when it first was proposed, that on the Board of directors there sat two practicing Homosexuals, a gay man and a lesbian? Both who decided that certain "offensive" (in their opinion) words need to be removed , Sodomite being one Deuteronomy 23:17 / 1 kings14:24 ; 15:12 ; 22:46, and effeminate, 1 Corinthians 6:9 .
Isn't it interesting that the those two words, which directly addresses and condemns the ungodly sexual behavior of those two practicing Homosexuals, needed to be removed, sighted as not being accurate? 
This is the assault which Satan (Lucifer) uses the most against the saints of God, just as it was in the beginning, for he knows, that if he can get man to question God's Word, and set confusion in the mind of man, then the old rule of war, divide and conquer is achieved !!
Lastly, think about this, all the English Translation are copyrighted, except one, The King James Version, which is the authorized, the authentic. The KJV never has had a copy right and never will, because those who were called (by God) to translated the Word of God in the English language, wanted anyone who needed to make full copies, or any part thereof ,to be used as they were in need! Not only that,but, who, what man or women, can claim sole rights in anyway to God's Word?
In closing, it is a fact the the KJV is written in the most simplest form, uses words with the least amount of syllables and has a fourth grade reading level. The KJV is the Bible that God used to bring the lost to Christ for 200 years before any other translations began to muster in. The greatest Preachers know to the Church used the KJV throughout the world with many a lost soul experiencing conversion, lives were changed, great revivals took place.
However, in our day with all these so called new version of translation in God's word, there is a dramatic decline in soul winning, decline in church attendance, with diversities of ungodliness abounding throughout our Land...WHY is this?
Well, what would you expect with the Word of God so watered down, and becoming more and more diluted with every new "translation" introduced into the world, Just how many more translation do we need, 250, 400, 1000, when will it ever end and what will it look like 100 years from now should the Lord tarry?
In a word, if I could accurately explain it......, MONEY!! 1 Tim 6:10, "for the LOVE of MONEY is the root of all evil"

If i listened to every warning i received I'd be leading a pretty dull life. I guess we both run a risk.
What dull? I lead a full and exciting life. I have lived my life both ways. I used to go out and get drunk and thought that was the end all...till I woke up the next morning. What Dull? Sex with multiple partners...worked as a home health aide in hospice taking care of a lot of end stage STD ppl. What Dull...Having a loving husband, wonderful children, beautiful grandchildren and still young enough to crawl around on the floor and play peek a boo with them and watch the excitement in their eyes, going on cruises, traveling this great country, doing all the things you can do but I do it while PRAISING MY GOD FOR SENDING HIS SON TO FORGIVE ME MY SINS. What risk...you I am sorry to say are the only one running the risk...say we who believe and have faith in God are right, then we stand before Him and He let's us spend eternity in Heaven...What risk...you on the other hand, stand before him and He tells you that the one sin that is not forgivable is Blasphemy (an act of cursing or reviling God, the crime of assuming to oneself the rights or qualities of God, irreverent behavior toward anything held sacred, priceless) and throws you into the lake of fire meant for the Devil and his minions. So you see the only risk that we have taken is not to live a life of what...drunkenness, using God's name in vain, profanity, sexual promiscuous or anything else you consider pretty dull. DH, Even if you are just trying to get to everyone and get them going...it is called Blasphemy...and as always, as I do for anyone and everyone I see or hear or see write such things I put them in my prayers that they find the true peace and Faith in God, in this Life cause there are no second chances standing before the throne of God!
