Unfortunately MOST of the wags we've sent to "Wonderland on the potomac" are lawyers. That's why the Founders wrote the highest law of the land in fewer WORDS than a regulation on the sale of a commodity has PAGES! If you're a lawyer, you write your own loopholes in so when you get voted out you can help companies that hire you as a "consultant" get around the very roadblocks YOU put in place! Rich is being a bit... rough, but he (and Jon) are both right. After the National Firearms Act of 1938, there is zero percent chance that an undisciplined mob, even made up of motivated patriots would stand against the assortment of automatic weapons, armored vehicles, and helicopter gunships that would be deployed against them. The ultimate option that our Founders left us, is all BUT closed, and if we were to go that route it had better be with the full understanding that we do so because it's better to die free than live as slaves. because that's is what would happen. To put the current situation in historic context, it would be as if The Redcoats had their brown bess muskets but the Colonials had long been limited to bow and arrows with a pull of not over 30 pounds and rocks to throw, not over 4 ounces. we have VERY DAMNED FEW automatic weapons, NO explosives, NO artillery, NO combat aircraft. You know why terrorists use the cowardly tactics they do? Because they CAN'T fight in an open pitched battle without being wiped out and they know it. So the question is.... would you commit suicide, or become a terrorist? The ONLY other option is to have our revolution bloodlessly at the ballot box!
