Ok people check into your State laws you might live in 1 of the 43 states that allow the visable carrying of guns. That's right it's called " open carry" where you can strap on a holster on your hip and do your daily errands with it out in the open. Go to opencarry.org to find your State.

Interesting site. All these legal restriction are infringing on our constitutional right to keep and bear arms. You do not need a concealed carry license...just a copy of our constitution.

Makes you wonder what they think the "bear arms" part of the right to "keep and bear arms" means!

Arms are any weapon used for self-protection. It includes, certainly, guns and knives. I will go to Founders Blog and bring back some quotes.

In Minnesota we have a "carry law" the folks who put this law together saw all manor of gotcha's in the concealed laws of other states. An example I can think of comes from a friend in California if the wind blows and someone so much as gets a peek at his gun and reports it to the police poof it's gone. I follow the little old lady factor and carry concealed so some one doesn't think I'm robbing the bank ect.

Dave California is an " open carry " state a bit modified ( must be unloaded) but you can visible carry there. check the site I listed Minn is open carry to.

The problem with open carry laws, or concealed carry laws, is that most police officers do not know the law they are paid to enforce. Utah has an open carry law, (a round cannot be in the chamber) but most officers think it also means the magazine must not be in the gun at the time. there is also a brandishing a weapon law in which some uneducated officers interpret as a weapon that is visible. I used to carry open at times, until I received my ccw, but I got tired of all the stares I got. It came to the point that when I carried open I also had a badge visible. Not to impersonate a police officer, but to give the public a sense of security when they saw the badge and the hand gun. ( the badge said bail enforcement) At that time you didn't need a licence for bail enforcement in the state of Utah. Now you do. In my opinion open carry, unless its widely acceptable in your community, is asking for un wanted head aches constitution right or not. not every judge is pro gun out there and they don't care if you are a constitution carrying citizen.

That's one of the reasons the group opencarry.org does it to make open caring normal looking by having as many people doing as possible

Gunfighter I completely agree but every concerned citizen and cop I'd run into would want a piece of me. Show one ounce of bucking authority and they would invent something to rune my day.

Dave with most state laws just open carrying isn't against the law so they can't say anything to you. Go to opencarry.org and check the laws of your state

The Second Amendment IS my gun permit. Issue Date: 12/15/1791 Expiration Date: NEVER!!!

And that should include Concealed AND Open! Without being fingerprinted or whatever else they treat you like a criminal with! NO PERMITS! Just the open freedom to use whatever weapon you want! NO RESTRICTIONS! Full auto? Ballistic knife? You should be able to have it!

I prefer unregistered/unlicensed open carry to CCW--MAIN reason being that you get registered, you're first on the confiscation list when the day comes. If you're not registered/licensed, you're not "on the list." I DO think that it's a good idea to carry a copy of the local/state laws regarding open carry just in case you ARE harrassed for exercising your Constitutional rights. Hard for the cops who don't know their own laws to harrass you over them when you present them to them, but yes, I agree with Dave--if the cops are a bunch of pricks, they'll be their corrupt selves and invent something to screw with you on.
