Last night on Greta Van Sustren, LA Councilwoman janice hahn blathered on about the law that she obviously hasn't read or understood.
Check out 2:40 in the video where she says that she "doesn't like how it uses things like a person's appearance, their language, or their cultural traits to determine who isnt here legally" The problem with her statement is that SB 1070 doesn't mention any one of those things that she is so worried about.
This can be easily verified by going to the Arizona legislature's website and downloading the .pdf of the law www.azleg.gov/legtext/49leg/2r/bills/sb1070s.pdf and then doing a quick search for the words "appearance", "language", "cultural", or "traits". You won't find them because they are not in the law. If these pin heads would just read damn law, they wouldn't be getting their panties in such a wad.
Another LA Councilman, ed reyes made this bonehead statement regarding the Arizona law:
"Los Angeles the second-largest city in this country, an immigrant city, an international city. It needs to have its voice heard," said Councilman Ed Reyes. "As an American, I cannot go to Arizona today without a passport. If I come across an officer who’s having a bad day and feels that the picture on my ID is not me, I can be... deported, no questions asked. No where in the text of SB 1070 is the word "passport" , or "deported" used and yet this idiot is using scare tactics to back up his vote to have the city of LA boycott the state of Arizona.

DOZENS ARRESTED IN ARIZONA....
TONOPAH, Ariz. - An illegal cockfighting ring was busted in the west valley and Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is not taking this animal cruelty lightly.
The fights were held in Tonopah, near 385th Avenue and Southern. Nearly 70 people were arrested, including 20 suspected illegal aliens.
"We do not give tickets out, we arrest them and put them in handcuffs, book them into our jail when they violate animal cruelty laws. I don't care if it's against dogs, cats, horses, roosters or what have you." Arpaio said.
All of the suspects were booked for being present at a cockfight - a class one misdemeanor.
The Sheriff's office also says guns and drugs were found at the property.

If you knew anything about polling and market research, you would know that age, race, etc are controlled thru the screening process. Whiic is why, without the proper information, polling is a joke.
Hence the reason exit polls showed Al Gore as President. Those polls had a flaw. Exit polls are conducted face to face and most pollsters hired were young and minorities, just like Democrats. Face 2 Face polling's main flaw is the bias of the pollster in that they talk to people, "like themselves".

It's only 20 pages. I read it on my lunch hour. You would think a piece of legislation that is causing so mych uproar in the Country would garner the attention of some of the top officials in the Country to at least take the time to read it before making statements againast it.
