my comment was not to try and claim evolution was false, but rather that it is false to say it is completely undisputed. there is a major belief that evolution is wrong and should be replaced by ID inteligent Design. i don;t neccessarily agree, but to say evolution is undisputed would be false.
and lastly, no DH I am not impressed that a Geoligist is teaching you about fish DNA and the effects of pollution on marine life, mainly because Geologists study rocks, Biologists study living things. Does that make him wrong? no, but it doesn't make him an expert either. Its not even his field of study, which gives you all the more reason to queston it. And by the way while we are making attempts, as far as I am aware full on genetic engineering is still very much science fiction, so no we could not pluck fish from the water change their DNA and put them back.

Actually polar bears are adapting relatively well considering how fast their environment's changing. They've been seen a lot more in the northern end of Canada. Still sucks that so many are drowning though. They can't swim forever.

Jonathan, you need to read my comment again; what you are saying exactly proves my point! Al Gore is not a scientist! That's what my comment was all about. The climate change is driven, publicized and distorted by media and politicians, not peer- reviewed science, and is debated and disputed by many prominent scientists, including evolutionists! I gave the example of Professor Ian Plimer who, like me, is a stout opponent of creationism but also recognizes the missing science of global warming to a point that his public opposition to it helped Australia to struck down their version of the carbon tax bill!
My whole point was not to confuse global warming with established science, and to respond to Todd's claim that it is analogous with established science, or to compare it to evolution. It is a political issue, and actual science will settle it in a near future.
And by the way - all this talk about science. Science is not science WHEN THERE'S NO DEBATE! Science is all about debate. The minute you hear a scientist - or a politician say - "the debate is closed" THAT SHOULD BE YOUR FIRST CLUE THAT YOU'RE NO LONGER DEALING IN SCIENCE!
Your are right! That is why these conclusion-esque things science produces are always called theories and not facts!!
1) There has been much more C02 in our atmosphere many times over earth history and remember, without CO2 plans can not make oxygen. It is not one or the other. Also the earth tempreture is more changed by the suns variations than any human activity.
2) In addition the earth is moving away from at 15 cm per year, that may not sound like much but radiation (including heat) decreases exponentially as you move away from the source.
3)Of our atmosphere 0.038% is carbon dioxide and human activity is not moving this number even a 100th of a percent!!!
Please see this website to learn more. Only the naive do not think we are not polluting, sure we are and I am all for stopping that which is toxic and makes sense to do, CO2 in the quantities we effect is a non factor. CO2 is a distraction from real pollution and a tool to control us.
