Democrats are now suggesting that pot will be legalized. Certainly not a surprise in light of Obama's recent decision that his justice department won't go after people using pot for "health" purposes.
John Podesta, former Clinton Chief of Staff and now President and CEO of the Center for American Progress suggested on ABC's This Week that taxing pot could be a way to pay for health care!
When will this long nightmare end!!!???
how jonathan swift of you.
but let's focus on the pot and the prostitution.
people are more than capable of deciding which kinds of vices they want to engage in from cigarettes to alcohol to in my opinion pot and paid sex.... we talk so much about the free market... well what's more in demand than sex and an organically grown substance that makes you feel good. legallize and tax it.

actually pot was made illegal to try and curb the influx of illegal mexican immigrants in the 30s... same with the prohibition of opium in california with the chinese in the 1800s.
There's really no point in federal prohibition of any controlled substance, really. You'd think we would have learned from the 18th amendment. Even with the 21st amendment the federal government holds highway money over the states' heads which has bread the social value of underaged binge drinking. Which proves the point the government solutions are the problem...
Jefferson said that he'd rather deal with the inconveniences of too much freedom than that of not enough. And a free society is about personal choice (with the exception of abortion-no one has that right...), not the exercising of authority. Responsibility should very much be held at the LOCAL lever... I'm talking households and families, not an arbitrary faceless state. Making something is illegal is assuming that you cannot make healthy, moral, or wise choices by yourself.
yet everybody (and that includes the bible belt types) keeps coming here, either to get away from where they live or to pursue all the opportunity we have out here... believe me with the nightmare traffic we have, i wish people would leave. lol
Patrick, according to the American Movers Conference, California has a negative population growth over the past nine years. (that pertains to people moving in from other states, and not to births in the state). The Ca census bureau says that Ca has grown by 7% in that period, and 56% of that growth has been in Illegal aliens, and a total of 89% of the growth is among minority communities. I bet you do have a traffic problem. There's a very large contingent of drivers that don't know what the signs say!
