Congress passed an amendment this week, offered by California radical Democrat Maxine Waters that would ultimately invite ACORN back in to help government govern. Yes, the same ACORN that played a large role in bringing us the Housing Crisis that led to the current financial criss. And yes, the same ACORN whose employees tried to help a girl they believed to be running a child sex slavery operation.
From the Congressional Website: "Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) today announced the passage of her amendment to H.R. 3126, The Consumer Financial Protection Agency (CFPA) Act of 2009, which would restructure the Agency’s Oversight Board to include consumer’s voices. As originally proposed, the CFPA Oversight Board would be comprised of seven members, representing only federal government agencies."
ENTER ACORN:
"Congresswoman Waters’ amendment would require the President, with the advice and consent of the Senate, to name five other Board Members from the fields of consumer protection, fair lending and civil rights, representatives of depository institutions that primarily serve underserved communities, or representatives of communities that have been significantly impacted by higher-priced mortgage loans."
I think we all know what fair lending is code for. And this combined with the phrases civil rights and higher-priced mortgages makes it all too clear that what Democrats are really after here. They're going for policies that will make it possible for poor minority people to get discounted loans on account of their race and economic status.
This is EXACTLY what ACORN is known for. And whether it's ACORN or the same group with another name, this amendment radicalizes what would have been fairly mundane legislation.
Note: As originally proposed the Board would have been comprised only of members representing federal government agencies. The Waters amendment mandates that members from "consumer protection, "fair lending and civil rights" or representatives of communities that have been significantly impacted by higher-priced mortgages to be included.
I think you can see what she's getting at. Her amendment will now make it possible for ACORN and groups like ACORN to continue pushing the United States over the financial brink with their racist demands. (*"Racist demands" means unreasonable demands that are contrary to sound financial practices made in the name of benefiting one group over another on account of their race or economic status.)
Patrick, evidence abounds. Just because I don't back up each and every statement I make - doesn't mean there isn't plenty of backup! I'm usually very careful not to say anything unless I know there are facts to support it.
Just one example: during the Fannie Mae hearings in 2005. When Republicans were demanding that the chairman Franklin Raines (who is black) be investigated, she lashed out in anger at them and not so subtly suggested they were racists for targeting a black CEO. What mattered to her was everyone's skin color. That's what I call racist.
But you're right on class divide too. I think classists like Waters are as bad as racists. Because they do as much damage to the country. I would also suggest her class views are deeply rooted in her racial views.
