BLUE-STATE BLUES
MSNBC is touting today's voting as a Win-Win for Democrats. In a bout with twisted logic, Dems win even if they lose, according to the liberals at America’s least watched news network.
This is the same logic liberals use on other issues – like the economy. You know, the “we’ve created or saved thousands of jobs” logic. Or the, “if the earth keeps getting cooler, it’s because it's getting warmer” logic. And now the ultimate in liberal logic, “if we lose elections - we win!”
I know – it’s a little hard to wrap your head around.
In their view if Democrats lose today - it will highlight how extreme the Republican party has become. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) said of today’s possible Republican victories, “I think that sends a signal around the country in all these Republican primaries that, moderates beware, because the [Republican] party has essentially been taken over by the far right.”
Yes, that “far right”. The one that still loves America.
So, let me untwist the logic a bit and tell you why today’s voting is actually a win-win for Republicans.
It boils down to the blue-state blues. The fact that these elections in the bluest of blue states are so close, should send shock waves up the spines of the radical Democrats in Washington. If the summer townhall protests were enough to stall the health care bill, then the mere closeness of these blue-state elections should finally kill it.
The three important races are the Virginia and New Jersey governors' races, and most importantly, the congressional race in the 23rd district of New York.
The Virginia race has all but fallen off the radar of the fringe media. Because it’s pretty much a sure thing for the Republicans at this point - as Virginians seek to return to their roots. Virginia’s first governor, Patrick Henry said, "Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel." Virginians appear to be waking up to the daily threats to liberty coming from their neighbors in DC.
In New Jersey, a three-way race is complicating matters for the Republican. But the take-home message there is, a majority of New Jerseyans don't like the Democrat. And with all the campaigning Obama did in the state, a slim victory for the Democrat will not be good news for the radicals in Washington.
But the big race in terms of what will move Washington, is the 23rd congressional district race in New York. If this moderate district goes for staunch conservative, “far-righter”, America-loving Doug Hoffman, that should put health care, cap & trade, and every other Marxist-inspired plan in Washington on ice.
This is the race congress people will be watching. One, because it’s a congressional race, and those hold a special place in their calculating political hearts. And two, because it’s in a moderate district. A Hoffman win in this moderate district will send a clear signal that America is not on board with Washington’s Marxist agenda.
But even if Hoffman doesn’t manage to pull it off – the mere fact that a man who just a few weeks ago was a life-long accountant, and a man who didn’t initially get the support of the Republican party, the fact that he made such headway and came so close, should keep those in Washington singing the blue-state blues well into next year.
If this can help stall health care and cap & trade until at least January, then it will be nearly impossible for those things to get passed in anything close to their current form. Little chance the pusillanimous Democrats are going to pass anything so bold in an election year.
They’ll likely turn to less bold initiatives like figuring out how to clamp down on free speech – a step they’ll have to take if they wish to win future elections – by winning!
We will be ever vigilant!

The ministry of truth in action.
Can't wait for the actual results.

As a New York state residence I may have a little to be proud of tonight. The two governers races are being touted as important. I think the upstate NY congressional district 23 race will be the most telling. If won by the conservative party's Doug Hoffman, that race sends a message to both dems, and republicans. The dems we can tell "hell no", and the republicans we tell "WE DON'T WANT RHINOS". And that message will go straight to Washington. In their faces in the halls of congress. Both parties would have to see MR. Hoffman every day. Yes a conservative! Hope is still alive.

Here's how the liberals are spinning it... they're saying if Republicans win Virginia it's "no big deal". Of course not because we know the Republican IS going to win Virginia. Right now with a quarter of the vote in - he's some 30 points ahead.
They're saying if Doug Hoffman (conservative/Republican) wins NY-23 it's no big deal. (THAT IS A HUGE DEAL as I outlined above). But their saying it's no big deal is an indication that perhaps they have some polling numbers suggesting Hoffman might win.
Then they're saying it is ONLY big deal if Corzine loses New Jersey. Well, of course they're saying that because NJ looks like the only place they have a shot! And the only reason they have a shot there is because this idiot Daggett made it a 3-way race - splitting the Corzine opposition.
DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO HOW IT'S SPUN, watch what happens. And just know that if Hoffman wins 23 - Democrats in Washington will be quaking in their boots. They KNOW that race is a direct reflection on their job performance. If Hoffman loses, just the fact he got so far will still put the fear into them.
I have a feeling come tomorrow things are going to get awfully complicated with health care!

Yes Jonathan. I guarantee you they expected some flack over all this, but they never saw the smack down coming this fast. As a sideline Beck was over the top tonight. The dems need to be afraid. Even if they change their spots, and try and moderate things a bit we can not let anybody forget what they really are.

Ooh, 67% of WHITE WOMEN voted for Christie (Republican) in NJ!! Women usually go for the Democrat! That's not a good sign - for Corzine.

Karl Rove made good point - that 10% of the black vote is 3 times more of the black vote than John McCain got.

A republican sweep all over would be a real wakeup call. Well except for California. We can't expect that much.
